Sassy Water and the Flat Belly Diet

You may have heard about "sassy water", one of the staples of the Flat Belly Diet.  There's nothing magic about sassy water — its just a tasty way to make sure you drink 8 glasses of water a day.

Proper hydration is super important to your general health.  It makes sure your body is able to maintain proper fluid balance so it can process and digest waste.  Good hydration helps guard against water retention, prevents constipation and bloating, and wards off fatigue.

During the initial or "Jumpstart" stage of the Flat Belly Diet, you need to drink a full recipe of "sassy water".  Prevention calls it "sassy water" in honor of the woman who came up with the recipe (Cynthia Sass).  It's a tasty twist on plain old water.  Plus the ingredients are chosen to help calm and soothe your digestive system.  Sassy water is an easy-to-make mixture of water with a lemon, a cucumber, grated ginger and spearmint leaves.
